Rams Couldn't Pass on Trent McDuffie

The offseason is beginning to heat up, and the Rams now have their missing piece.
Today, around noon, news broke that the Los Angeles Rams had traded four draft picks in return for All-Pro CB Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fans have been clamouring for a cornerback for nearly two years now. The Rams have reasonably solid depth, but since the departure of Jalen Ramsey, have not had a bonafide lockdown cornerback.
Following the loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game in January, Les Snead has spoken more than once about 'optimizing their window' with Matthew Stafford.
Following up on that, yesterday Snead stated:
"Is there an All-Pro you can add?... That would be nice."
He certainly knew, and now we know.
Now, getting to the logistics, McDuffie fits the Rams bill for a cornerback.
He has the capability of covering inside, sometimes outside. He can blitz when asked, which is a huge part of the Rams scheme.
In terms of draft picks, the Rams shipped off their own first round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, leaving them with the Falcons earlier pick. As well as their third round pick from next year, and two late round picks from this year.
The front office will have to extend him, and it will be pricey, but totally worth it. This is the first piece of a big offseason for the Los Angeles Rams. Hopefully it ends with a Super Bowl victory at home, in SoFi Stadium next February.
