Who Makes the Cut?
Predicting the Initial Rams 53-Man Roster

There's a lot of speculation around the 2025 Los Angeles Rams roster. Many believe that this team is the deepest in depth of any Rams teams in the past few years.
Unfortunately, along with the positives of this, there's also the con of being forced to waive some talented players.
Here's my outlook on the 2025 LA Rams roster, following the first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Quarterback | 3
QB1 - Matthew Stafford
QB2 - Jimmy Garoppolo
QB3 - Stetson Bennett IV
Cut - Dresser Winn
This room speaks for itself. Bennett performed well against the Cowboys, and has showcased massive signs of improvement. Dresser Winn was simply a camp arm to operate with.
Running Back - Half Back | 4
RB1 - Kyren Williams
RB2 - Blake Corum
RB3 - Jarquez Hunter
RB4 - Cody Schrader
Cut - Ronnie Rivers, Jordan Waters
Before the Cowboys game, it seeming leaned towards Ronnie Rivers getting the RB4 spot over Cody Schrader, but with the performance Schrader had against the Cowboys the Rams will be hard pressed to hold onto him over an injured Rivers.
Time will tell here, Rivers has had some good moments before so this will likely come down to the very end of Preseason.
Wide Receiver | 6
WR1 - Puka Nacua
WR2 - Davante Adams
WR3 - Jordan Whittington
WR4 - Tutu Atwell
WR5 - Konata Mumpfield
WR6 - Xavier Smith
Cut - Brennan Presley, Britain Covey, Mario Williams, Drake Stoops, Tru Edwards
The argument could be made for keeping another wide receiver, and I personally really like Brennan Presley but this seems unrealistic at the moment. By the end of Preseason it's possible Rams choose to keep Presley over Smith, though Smith had a great game against the Cowboys so that task may be too much to conquer. Mumpfield, being a player whose had a great offseason, and being a rookie is a guarantee to make the roster.
Covey was signed as a return specialist but the Rams will have should have no problems finding a more versatile player there.
Tight End | 3
TE1 - Tyler Higbee
TE2 - Terrance Ferguson
TE3 - Colby Parkinson
TE4 - Davis Allen
Cut - Mark Redman, McCallan Castles
Davis Allen being cut may be unrealistic at the moment, but if Ferguson can begin to showcase more of his ability in camp they may see no reason to keep Allen on.
Redman and Castles have very low, to non-existent odds to make the roster.
Offensive Line | 10
LT1 - Alaric Jackson
LG1 - Steve Avila
C1 - Coleman Shelton
RG1 - Kevin Dotson
RT1 - Rob Havenstein
OT+C - Beaux Limmer
OT - D.J. Humphries
OT - Warren McClendon Jr.
G - Justin Dedich
G - Willie Lampkin
Cut - KT Leveston, David Quessenberry, Dylan McMahon, A.J. Arcuri, Wyatt Bowles, Ben Dooley, Trey Wedig
There may be slight movement here, but barring injury this group is likely set. McClendon seems to be a guy that McVay wants to keep. They've been high on him since the start of last season.
Quessenberry could end up making the cut but it seems unnecessary to keep him if Alaric Jackson is healthy by the time the season starts.
Inside Defensive Line | 5
DT1 - Kobie Turner
DT2 - Braden Fiske
DT3 - Ty Hamilton
NT1 - Poona Ford
NT2 - Tyler Davis
Cut - Larrell Murchison, Desjuan Johnson, Bill Norton, Da'Jon Terry, Decarius Hawthorne, Jack Heflin
The battle here may come down to whether or not the Rams wants to keep another player in this unit. Murchison seems to have a slight lead over Johnson, but the tides could turn there. Other than those two possibly battling for a potential final spot, Turner, Fiske, Hamilton, Ford and Davis are guaranteed to make the roster.
Outside Linebacker | 4
ROLB - Jared Verse
LOLB - Byron Young
OLB - Josaiah Stewart
OLB - Keir Thomas
Cut - Brennan Jackson, Nick Hampton, Josh Pearcy, Jamil Muhammad
Thomas did not play against the Cowboys, so it's safe to say he likely has a pretty considerable lead over Jackson, Hampton and company for the last spot. Those two have had quiet offseasons as well, which will not help their chances.
Inside Linebacker | 4
Run iLB - Nate Landman
Run iLB - Omar Speights
Coverage iLB - Chris Paul Jr.
Coverage iLB - Shaun Dolac
Cut - Troy Reeder, Elias Neal, Tony Fields II
The Rams love Troy Reeder, he was a starter on the 2021 Super Bowl winning team, but they could keep Dolac for the upside. LB coach Greg Williams praised Dolac earlier this offseason on his intelligence and said that... "He could teach you the playbook right now".
Reeder was assumed to have only been re-signed for some familiarity in the room, someone who had been there before, but if Dolac is up to speed, why would they choose an older, worse player over a widely regarded 'steal'?
Cornerback - 5
CB1 - Darious Williams
CB2 - Ahkello Witherspoon
CB3 - Cobie Durant
CB4 - Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
CB5 - Josh Wallace
Cut - Cam Lampkin, Charles Woods, Derion Kendrick, Shaun Jolly, A.J. Green
This is a tough decision between Wallace and Lampkin, but the fact that the Rams played Wallace at both corner and safety on Saturday tells me he is more versatile of a player, and the Rams certainly love their dynamic players. The rest of the room is obvious, though Kendrick could sneak up and battle for a potential CB6 position.
Safety - 5
SS1 - Kamren Curl
FS1 - Kamren Kinchens
SS2 - Quentin Lake
FS2 - Jaylen McCollough
FS3 - Nate Valcarcel
Cut - Tanner Ingle, Malik Dixon-Williams
Like Brennan Presley, I firmly believe in Nate Valcarcel, and with how he played on Saturday, there's no reason to believe that he couldn't sneak in as S5 this year. McVay always spots talent, and Nate could lock up a spot with good performances to finish the Preseason.
Special Teams - 3
LS - Alex Ward
K - Joshua Karty
P - Ethan Evans
Cuts - None
