Who Makes It?

Last week I posted my initial 53-man LA Rams roster projection. Needless to say, there's been a few updates since then. All of which will be covered in detail in this article.
Here's my outlook on the 2025 LA Rams roster, following the second preseason game against the LA Chargers.
Quarterback | 3
QB1 - Matthew Stafford
QB2 - Jimmy Garoppolo
QB3 - Stetson Bennett IV
Cut - Dresser Winn
Nothing changed here, as I said last week; Dresser Winn is a camp arm and nothing else. Stetson has improved immensely over the last year or two and has definitely moved into the tier of 'reliable backup'.
Running Back - Half Back | 4
RB1 - Kyren Williams
RB2 - Blake Corum
RB3 - Jarquez Hunter
RB4 - Cody Schrader
Cut - Ronnie Rivers, Jordan Waters
With Ronnie Rivers continuing to be on the sideline nursing an injury, it's become clear that Schrader will end up taking the RB4 slot. He's played well late in both the preseason games.
Once again, no changes.
Wide Receiver | 7
WR1 - Puka Nacua
WR2 - Davante Adams
WR3 - Jordan Whittington
WR4 - Tutu Atwell
WR5 - Konata Mumpfield
WR6 - Xavier Smith
WR7 - Brennan Presley
Cut - Britain Covey, Mario Williams, Drake Stoops, Tru Edwards
Here's the first change from last week, Brennan Presley has earned his way onto the 53-man roster in my eyes. He got on my radar after the Cowboys game but he had some great plays against the Chargers, and then obviously clutched the game on 4th & 10 to set the Rams up in the red zone.
I think the Rams will be forced to add another receiver instead of replacing one with Presley. Smith and Mumpfield have done great as well, there's really no other way to handle the situation if you want to keep Brennan.
Tight End | 4
TE1 - Tyler Higbee
TE2 - Terrance Ferguson
TE3 - Colby Parkinson
TE4 - Davis Allen
Cut - Mark Redman, McCallan Castles
Once again, this room speaks for itself. The Rams will carry four tight ends to start the season.
Offensive Line | 10
LT1 - Alaric Jackson
LG1 - Steve Avila
C1 - Coleman Shelton
RG1 - Kevin Dotson
RT1 - Rob Havenstein
OT+C - Beaux Limmer
OT - D.J. Humphries
OT - Warren McClendon Jr.
G - Justin Dedich
G - Willie Lampkin
Cut - KT Leveston, David Quessenberry, Dylan McMahon, A.J. Arcuri, Wyatt Bowles, Ben Dooley, Trey Wedig
Today we got a bit more clarification from the Rams regarding Alaric Jackson's situation. He's on pace for their plan, so I think that eliminates any chance of carrying an eleventh OL following cuts.
There is a possible battle brewing though; Quessenberry or McClendon. I'm leaning towards McClendon simply for the McVay aspect. He very much so believes in Warren's potential.
Inside Defensive Line | 5
DT1 - Kobie Turner
DT2 - Braden Fiske
DT3 - Ty Hamilton
NT1 - Poona Ford
NT2 - Tyler Davis
Cut - Larrell Murchison, Desjuan Johnson, Bill Norton, Da'Jon Terry, Decarius Hawthorne, Jack Heflin
No change here, though I'm debating over Ty Hamilton's performance. He did not do well at all against the Cowboys and didn't play against the Chargers.
The fact he didn't see playtime against the Chargers leads me to believe that he's safe, but Desjuan Johnson had a great performance and could pressure him into a battle by the time the Browns game rolls around.
Outside Linebacker | 4
ROLB - Jared Verse
LOLB - Byron Young
OLB - Josaiah Stewart
OLB - Keir Thomas
Cut - Brennan Jackson, Nick Hampton, Josh Pearcy, Jamil Muhammad
Jackson answered the call against the Chargers, and had two sacks in the game. Keep an eye on this battle, it very well could come right down to the wire between Jackson and Thomas.
I think another good performance for Jackson may be enough to surpass Keir.
Inside Linebacker | 4
Run iLB - Nate Landman
Run iLB - Omar Speights
Coverage iLB - Chris Paul Jr.
Coverage iLB - Shaun Dolac
Cut - Troy Reeder, Elias Neal, Tony Fields II
I'm going to continue to gamble here and project Dolac makes it over Reeder. The way the coaches talk about him, and how he hypes up the team seems too good for them to let go off, especially over Troy Reeder.
Dolac needs to continue to perform on field though. If any of my 'gambles' are correct, I hope it's this one.
Cornerback - 5
CB1 - Darious Williams
CB2 - Ahkello Witherspoon
CB3 - Cobie Durant
CB4 - Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
CB5 - Josh Wallace
Cut - Cam Lampkin, Charles Woods, Derion Kendrick, Shaun Jolly, A.J. Green
No changes here, Wallace's versatility easily gives him an edge over Lampkin, Woods and company.
A.J. Green has looked really solid in both preseason games though, maybe a protected practice squad player?
Safety - 4
SS1 - Kamren Curl
FS1 - Kamren Kinchens
SS2 - Quentin Lake
FS2 - Jaylen McCollough
Cut - Nate Valcarcel, Tanner Ingle, Malik Dixon-Williams
Well, adding Presley means I have to make a cut somewhere else, and this is the position it will have to be at. The cut will be Nate Valcarcel, I didn't see him step up nearly as much this week compared to last.
The Rams also have plenty of depth at safety, but like Green, maybe the Rams will see enough to protect Valcarcel on the practice squad.
Special Teams - 3
LS - Alex Ward
K - Joshua Karty
P - Ethan Evans
Cuts - None
No changes, obviously.
