Rams Roster Update:
New Locks at QB, LB?

The battle to make the Los Angeles Rams 53-man roster is in full speed at the moment, but as far as I'm aware, a couple positions were just penciled in.
The clearest one is Stetson Bennett making the Rams roster for the third consecutive year. Bennett has made clear improvements year-by-year through his NFL career thus far and has taken leaps this offseason alone. He publicly struggled with addiction for multiple years, but he appears to be in a better mindset at the moment and has seemingly become the Rams long-term solution at the backup quarterback position.
Sean McVay spoke to the press today and confirmed that Dresser Winn will start for the final preseason game of the 2025 season, which is a sign that Bennett has done enough for them. Whenever McVay decides to pull a player from the preseason, their outcome has been cemented.
The other big name player that I believe has booked his spot on the roster, is fan favorite Shaun Dolac. Dolac was seen practicing today with the starting defense, going against the starting offense.
Now this may not seem like such a huge deal alone, McVay likes to cycle his players. However, when the starters for the Browns game were revealed, Dolac's name was not included. Practically the same explanation in my eyes as Stetson Bennett.Â
Dolac has performed spectacularly this offseason and was easily one of the best UDFA's in the 2025 class. In his final year in college, playing for the Buffalo Bulls' he was able to lead the FBS in tackles, as well as tallying 5 interceptions for 177 return yards.
Many analysts had a pretty high grade on him coming into the NFL Draft in April, with some even projecting him as a Round 3 selection.
The irony here relies in the fact that for the second consecutive year, veteran LB Troy Reeder will be displaced on (now completely off) the depth chart by a UDFA. Last year it was breakout star Omar Speights, this year it will be by the aforementioned Shaun Dolac.
I doubt Dolac sees starting time this year without a disastrous outcome, but either way he is an incredible depth and cycle player.
